Convert HSBC Statements to Excel
HSBC statements are ordinary transaction tables — dates, descriptions, amounts and balances — and that is exactly what this converter is built to read. It doesn't use a per-bank template; it reads the table structure itself, so an HSBC checking or card statement converts the same way as any other bank's.

At a glance
PDF Probe converts HSBC bank statements (PDF) into Excel with Date, Description, Amount and a running Balance column, then checks the computed ending balance against the printed one and shows the difference before you download. The first 10 pages are free with no sign-up, and your file is deleted within 1 hour.
How an HSBC statement is handled
There is no per-bank template in this tool: it reads the table structure — date-led rows with an amount — so an HSBC statement converts the same way as any other bank's, whether its table has a single Amount column or separate Withdrawals and Deposits columns.
The converter prints the statement's own beginning and ending balances into a reconciliation check: it rebuilds the running balance from the beginning balance and compares the computed ending balance with the printed one, to the cent, before you download.
Digital PDFs are read from the text layer; printed-and-scanned copies go through on-device OCR, so check the red-highlighted cells in the preview.
No HSBC test file has been built yet — the four banks tested so far are Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Amex (20 synthetic statements, 211 transactions, every cell correct and all 20 reconciled). An HSBC statement should convert the same way because the tool reads table structure, not a bank template — but verify the reconciliation line in the preview before trusting the numbers.

How it works
- 1
Upload
Drop your PDF into the converter — digital tables directly, scanned pages via on-device OCR.
- 2
Preview
Check the extracted table first. Low-confidence cells are highlighted red, and balances are reconciled up front.
- 3
Download
Confirm, then get a clean .xlsx (Transactions + Summary sheets) or .csv — amounts are numbers, dates are real dates.
Frequently asked questions
Has an HSBC statement actually been tested?
Not yet with a dedicated test file — Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Amex have. The converter reads table structure rather than a per-bank template, so a standard HSBC table should convert the same way. Check the reconciliation line in the preview: if it matches to the cent, the extraction is consistent.
How do I get my HSBC statement as a PDF?
Download it from HSBC online banking or the HSBC mobile app as a PDF statement, then upload it here.
I bank with HSBC in another country — does that matter?
The converter reads the table, not the bank or the country, so a statement with a standard date/description/amount table converts the same way. Amounts stay in the statement's own currency — nothing is converted between currencies.
Does it work on scanned statements?
Yes. Image-only PDFs are read with on-device OCR. Scanned pages are usually less accurate than digital ones — the preview highlights low-confidence cells in red.
Do you store my statement?
No. Files are deleted automatically within 1 hour, the upload folder is excluded from all backups, and nobody reviews your files.
