Convert Chase Bank Statements to Excel

Chase checking statements list each transaction with a date, a description, a signed amount and a running balance, then print a beginning and ending balance for the period. Upload the PDF and get that table back as a clean spreadsheet — amounts as real numbers, dates as real dates — with the balances reconciled before you download.

At a glance

PDF Probe converts Chase bank statements (PDF) into Excel with Date, Description, Amount and a running Balance column, then checks the computed ending balance against the printed one and shows the difference before you download. The first 10 pages are free with no sign-up, and your file is deleted within 1 hour.

How a Chase-style statement is laid out

Our test files model the common Chase-style checking layout: one transaction table with four columns — Date, Description, Amount and Balance — where each amount is signed (money in positive, money out negative) and the Balance column runs alongside it.

The statement prints a Beginning Balance at the top of the period and an Ending Balance at the bottom. The converter recomputes the running balance from the beginning balance and reconciles the computed ending balance against the printed one, to the cent.

Digital PDFs downloaded from Chase online banking are read from the text layer; printed-and-scanned copies go through on-device OCR instead, so check the red-highlighted cells in the preview.

Tested on 5 synthetic Chase-style statements (3 digital, 2 scanned; 49 transactions): every cell extracted correctly and all 5 reconciled exactly. These are synthetic test files modeled on the common structure, not copies of real Chase statements — real files vary, so always check the preview and the reconciliation line.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload

Drop your PDF into the converter — digital tables directly, scanned pages via on-device OCR.

  2. 2

    Preview

Check the extracted table first. Low-confidence cells are highlighted red, and balances are reconciled up front.

  3. 3

    Download

Confirm, then get a clean .xlsx (Transactions + Summary sheets) or .csv — amounts are numbers, dates are real dates.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get my Chase statement as a PDF?

Download it from Chase online banking or the Chase app as a PDF statement, then upload it here. The converter reads the table, not a Chase-specific template.

Does it work on scanned Chase statements?

Yes. Image-only PDFs are read with on-device OCR. Scanned pages are usually less accurate than digital ones — the preview highlights low-confidence cells in red so you can verify them.

What does the Excel file look like?

A Transactions sheet with Date, Description, Amount and Balance columns, plus a Summary sheet with the beginning balance, printed and computed ending balances, and the reconciliation difference.

What if the balances don't reconcile?

The preview shows the exact difference. A mismatch usually means a row was misread — check the red-highlighted low-confidence cells first, or re-scan the page straighter and try again.

Do you store my Chase statement?

No. Files are deleted automatically within 1 hour, the upload folder is excluded from all backups, and nobody reviews your files.
