Convert Scanned PDF to Excel (OCR)

Image-only PDFs — scans, phone photos of statements, faxed pages — have no text layer, so most converters return nothing. This tool renders each page and reads it with on-device OCR, then shows you exactly which cells it is unsure about.

At a glance

PDF Probe reads image-only PDFs — scans and phone photos — with on-device OCR and converts the tables to Excel, highlighting low-confidence cells in the preview so you can verify them. The first 10 pages are free with no sign-up, and your file is deleted within 1 hour.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload

Drop your PDF into the converter — digital tables directly, scanned pages via on-device OCR.

  2. 2

    Preview

Check the extracted table first. Low-confidence cells are highlighted red, and balances are reconciled up front.

  3. 3

    Download

Confirm, then get a clean .xlsx (Transactions + Summary sheets) or .csv — amounts are numbers, dates are real dates.

Frequently asked questions

How good is the OCR?

On clean scans it reads tables well. Phone photos with glare, heavy tilt or very low resolution will be worse — the preview highlights the uncertain cells so you know where to look.

Does my file leave your server?

No. OCR runs locally on the same server that serves the site. No cloud OCR service is involved.

What if a cell is wrong?

Fix it in the downloaded Excel file — or re-scan the page at higher resolution and straighter, then upload again.

How many pages can I convert?

10 free pages per browser during the probe, 20 pages per file. Larger files can be split and uploaded in parts.

Do you keep scanned images?

No. Uploads, rendered page images and results are all deleted automatically within 1 hour.

Pricing
