This free Clioos llms.txt generator helps you draft a site llms.txt
(and an optional llms-full.txt outline) from a site name, summary, and important links —
then copy or download the file. The checker validates pasted Markdown structure or fetches a public
https://{host}/llms.txt. It follows the llmstxt.org convention and does not crawl your whole
site or claim that publishing the file will make AI engines cite you.
Enter site name, optional summary/details, homepage URL, and important links. We template a spec-ordered llms.txt. Optionally sketch an llms-full.txt outline. Copy or download .txt.
Paste an existing body, or point at a public URL. We report whether it looks like llms.txt, whether an H1 is present, section count, and structural warnings.
Put llms.txt at your site root (e.g. public/llms.txt) so https://yoursite.com/llms.txt returns the file.
After you ship the file, open AI Visibility Lite to spot-check whether AI answers mention your brand (official APIs; 3 free checks per email, one-time). We still do not promise citations.
Free traffic + funnel tool — not a paid crawler SaaS. Facts as of 2026-10-29 (Asia/Shanghai).
| Option | What it is | Cost / friction | vs Clioos |
|---|---|---|---|
| llms.txt Generator (Clioos) | Web generate + structural check; optional public URL fetch | Free; no account for basic use | Spec-compliant templating; clear Clioos branding; CTA to AI visibility spot-checks |
| llmstxt.org | Spec / proposal site with Markdown examples | Free documentation | Authoritative spec — we are not that site; we link and thank it |
| Firecrawl llmstxt.firecrawl.dev | Hosted generator (historically URL → generate) | Was free/hosted; now steered to Firecrawl API | We keep a zero-install generate/check UI without whole-site crawl billing |
| TurboDocx next-plugin-llms (OSS) | Framework plugins for Next.js | Free OSS; requires build/setup | We target non-dev and static-site users with a browser form |
We do not deep-crawl your site into a paid knowledge graph. Generation is templating. Checking public URLs only hits the llms.txt endpoint when network fetch is enabled.
llms.txt is a proposed site root file (see llmstxt.org) that gives language models a short, structured Markdown map of your project — title, optional summary, and curated links — so tools can discover important pages without guessing from a full HTML crawl.
No. Publishing llms.txt does not guarantee AI citations, rankings, or traffic. Treat it as a helpful signal and documentation aid, not a ranking promise.
No. This is a free tool by Clioos. We are not affiliated with llmstxt.org. We aim for spec-compliant output and link to the specification for authors of the proposal.
A Markdown body in llmstxt.org-oriented order: required H1 title, optional blockquote summary, optional detail paragraphs, then ## sections of - [name](url): notes links, plus an optional ## Optional section. You can also sketch an llms-full.txt outline. Copy or download as .txt.
Whether the body looks like llms.txt, whether an H1 is present, how many sections it has, and structural warnings. For URL checks it requests the public path and reports status (for example missing file vs malformed structure). It does not log into private sites or crawl the whole domain.
Basic generate/check use is free and does not require an account. This page has no subscription or check packs. If you want brand mention spot-checks in AI answers, that is a separate Clioos tool: AI Visibility Lite at /ai-visibility/.
Serve it at https://your-domain/llms.txt (site root). On many static or Next.js apps that means placing llms.txt in the public/ folder (or equivalent) so it is publicly reachable.
Optionally open AI Visibility Lite to run free spot-checks (3 per email, one-time; email required) on whether OpenAI or Perplexity answers mention your brand for buyer questions. That tool also does not promise citations — it only reports mentions in official API snapshots.
