Clioos › Compare › Shot vs ScreenshotOne
Both are screenshot APIs: send a URL, get an image back. The difference is maturity and billing. Shot is a free probe — 20 renders a day per key, with paid packs not yet priced (its landing page takes intent registrations only, so no paid price is quoted here). ScreenshotOne is a production monthly subscription API with broad browser controls, storage, webhooks and video. One honest gap: Shot's paid future is unpriced, so any per-render cost comparison at paid volume cannot be computed yet.

Is Shot really free?
Yes, at the published tier: 20 renders a day per key, no card mentioned on its landing page. Paid packs are not priced yet — the landing page takes intent registrations only — so there is no paid tier to compare against ScreenshotOne's $17/$79/$259 plans today.
What does ScreenshotOne charge for failed screenshots?
Nothing, per its pricing FAQ: only screenshots that are successfully rendered and not served from cache count toward quota. Screenshots of error pages taken with ignore-host-errors enabled do count, because they are rendered screenshots.
Which one is cheaper at 10,000 screenshots a month?
ScreenshotOne's Growth plan is $79/month for 10,000 ($0.0079 each at full use). Shot cannot be priced at that volume yet because its paid packs are unpublished — that is the honest answer, not a number.
Do either of these store my screenshots?
ScreenshotOne caches on a CDN for up to 30 days and can upload to your S3-compatible storage. Shot returns the image directly and lists no storage feature on its landing page.
