Geo Audit
Quick answer: Geo Audit gives you a free, full report on whether AI search tools can read and cite a public web page. It checks llms.txt, robots.txt AI crawler rules, sitemap, Open Graph tags, JSON-LD, server-rendered content, and answer blocks. No account needed.
Check whether AI search tools can read and cite a public web page. Free, full report, no account.
What it checks
- llms.txt — present and usable, per the llmstxt.org format
- robots.txt — whether AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, and others) are blocked
- Sitemap — reachable via robots.txt or /sitemap.xml
- Open Graph tags — title and description for previews and snippets
- Structured data — parseable JSON-LD (schema.org)
- Server-rendered content — heuristic: does raw HTML already contain the text?
- Answer blocks — subheadings and FAQ-style sections that can be cited
How this audit works, and its limits.
- Public pages only. We make one ordinary request per file with an identifying user-agent. No login, no bot-check bypass, no paywalled content. If a site refuses (403, 429, login wall), the report says so instead of retrying.
- Rate limits apply: 10 scans per hour per visitor, and the same URL is only re-scanned after 10 minutes, so no target site gets hammered.
- The score measures machine-readability only. It does not promise AI Overview citation, ranking, or traffic. Whether an AI search tool cites a page is that tool's decision.
- Reports go only to you, the person who submitted the URL. There is no public ranking or shame board.
- The server-rendered item is a heuristic (raw HTML text volume), not a certainty: some crawlers do render JavaScript.
Geo Audit probe. No payments, no accounts. Scan counts only; emails are never published.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does GEO Audit check?
Whether a public web page is readable and citable by AI search tools: llms.txt, robots.txt AI crawler rules, sitemap, Open Graph tags, structured data (JSON-LD), server-rendered content, and answer blocks.
Is GEO Audit free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, with a full report and no account. There are no payments and no accounts.
How often can I scan the same page?
Up to 10 scans per hour per visitor. Scanning the same URL within 10 minutes returns the cached result instead of running a new audit.
Does GEO Audit render JavaScript?
No. The server-rendered check is a heuristic on raw HTML only: it measures whether raw HTML already contains the text. Some crawlers do render JavaScript, so this item is a heuristic, not a certainty.
